Happy #menumonday, friends! (I know, it’s Tuesday. I’m so, so sorry for not getting this up yesterday!!) I’m still struggling to find my writing routine groove.
Here we are, already at the end of September. It’s hard to believe we are moving into October! We have fun in October around here, especially in the kitchen. October arrives with us solidly past the summer to school transition and we have settled back into our school year routines nicely. Cool, crisp days leave us craving warm soups, savory meals, and sweet and spiced baked good. As my husband said the other day: “It’s cookie season!”
I still love quick and easy meals on school nights, but getting past the transition and back into routines gives me more mental and emotional margins to be more creative in the kitchen. I like to try new recipes in October, and they often lead to tries and true dishes that we eat all year long!
Here’s the plan for the week:
- Monday: Chicken Penne Gorgonzola
- Tuesday: Tacos
- Wednesday: Leftovers
- Thursday: Bacon Mac ‘n’ Cheese
- Friday: Sub Sandwiches
- Saturday: Leftovers
- Sunday: Butternut Squash Soup
